The Blair Witch Timeline
Febuary 1785,Elly Kedward is accused of witchcraft and is convicted.She was banished from the village in a harsh winter and was presumed dead.
November,1786,In the middle of another harsh winter all of Kedwards accusers and lots pf childeren vanished.There was a curse being feared and the townspeople fled from the village afraid and cold they never said her name again.
November 1809, A book that is named "Blair Witch Cult" is published and is thought of as fiction,this book is very rare to find.
1824,On the blair site Burkittsville is founded.
August 1825,11 witnesses say that they have seen a pale womans hand reach out of "Tappy east Creek" and pulled a 10 year old named Eileen Treacle into that creek.Her body is never found, for the following thirteen days,oily sticks in bundles clogged up the Tappy East Creek.
March,1886,An 8 year old kid named Robin Weaver is reported missing.Several Search parties are dispatched.Later Weaver returns yet a search party does not.Weeks later their disembowled bodies are found at Coffin Rock,tied together at the legs and arms.
November 1940-May 1941,7 childeren along with Emily Hollands are abducted from the area called Burkittville,Maryland.
May 25,1941,Rustin Parr, an old hermit,comes into the local market and starts to tell the people he is "finished finally."After hours of hiking,to the secluded house of Rustin Parr,the police find 7 disembowled bodies of chilederen.Admitting to everything with details, he tells authorities he did it for a "ghastly old woman."He is hung after being convicted.
October 20,1994,Students of Montgomery College,Heather Donahue,Joshua Leanord,and Michael Williams, come to Burkittsville to get information about the Blair Witch for a class project from locals.Heather interviews Mary Brown and finds out that she is very old and crazy,who never has went away from this town.This crazy woman says that she has seen the Blair Witch,near the Tappy Creek as a half-human half-animal beast.Early the next morning Heather Donahue interviews two fishermen who tell her that an old logging trail will lead her to Coffin Rock with only a 20 minute drive.Once the three filmakers get there they are never seen again.
October 25 1994, An APB is used.Joshs car is later found stopped on Black Rock Road.The next day Marlyand State Police start to search the Black Hills Area ,a search lasting 10 days including 100 men with dogs as protection,also using helicopters and a fly over by a Department of Defense Satelite.
November 5,1994, After 33,000 hours this search is called off because they find nothing left behind by the filmmakers.Angie Donahue (Heathers Mother) launches a personal exhausting search for her daughter and the two companions.
June 19,1995, The case is unsolved and declared inactive.
October 16,1995, Some students from the University of Maryland's Departmet of Anthropoligy found a duffel bag full of film cans,video cassettes,DAT tapes,a Hi-8 video camera,Heathers Journal and a CP-16 film camera hidden inside the foundation of a 100 year-old shack.The evidence gets examined and the Sheriff of Burkittsville Ron Cravens announces that the 11 rolls of white and black film and 10 HI8 video tapes are surely the property of Heather Donahue and her crew.
December 15,1995 When an initial study of the bags inventory, select film pieces are shown to the families.According to Angie Donahue,there are some unusual events but not enough to end the case.The authorities are questioned of their thoroughness by the family.
Febuary 19,1996 The inventory is shown to the family again and they find that the inventory is considered to be fake.The family is enraged, Angie Donahue goes public with all of her rage and criticism.Sheriff Cravens stops all entry to the evidence;even after two lawsuits the restriction is not lifted.
March 1,1996 The department of the Sheriff announces that the evidence is not good enough and the case is said to be unsolved and in-active.The videos are released on October 16, 1997.
October 16,1997 The footage that is found of the students last days are given' to the family.Angie Donahue contracts Haxan Films to study the footage and put together the events of October 20-28, 1994.
