Diplomat
In social studies, you learn about
different places and people. Do you want a career that lets
you be like these people, and see these places? You could be
a diplomat. Come with me and explore this career that may
possibly be the job for you!
Being a diplomat is a very important
job. You are responsible for a lot of people and places. A
good thing about being a diplomat is you have many different
options of employment. You could work for an embassy in
another country. You would handle the communications between
your country and the one that the embassy is set in. This
would be working in immigration, law enforcement and
business and trade affairs. You could also work in the
political field. This involves pretty much the same thing.
But, you could to act more as a decision maker and leader.
This is almost like two jobs in one. Gosh, thaws pretty
cool.
To enter the foreign service, you have
to be an American citizen between the ages of twenty and
fifty-four. To add to your chances of being successful, you
need a diploma of higher education such as a bachelor's, a
masters, undergraduate, or doctorate. This will look great
on your resume. Applicants must also take many foreign
service exams, and these help you move on to higher career
points.
So stop reading about it in a
classroom, and start doing it in the real
world.
