"Harriet" Harriet's master yelled with his black hair waving in the air. "Harriet come back!" exclaimed her master, but little did he know she was long gone.
She has gone to Pennsylvania. This time she came Sojourner Truth was speaking of freedom.
"Help!" the men yelled at the battle of Liberty, with the grass blood stained around them.
But in this tragic battle Robert E. Lee won for the Confederates against Elmer Elsworth. Robert E. Lee kidnapped a few free slaves that were in the lower half of the northern states, and in the few slaves were Billy and Marry.
Billy and Marry are running through the woods falling, and tripping on old, dead logs. Finally after running two or three miles they heard howls from blood hounds in the distance. They both took off running as fast as they could over dead logs and wet leaves. They came upon a clearing surrounded by titan sized pine trees.
There was a tall shadow who flailed it's arms in the air and said,"Come with me!"
"O.K."yelled Billy ,
"But who are you?"
" Why child I'm da Moses (Harriet Tubman)"
"Moses!" Marry yelled, and her voice seemed to echo through the woods around them.
"Shhh," Billy scolded.
"Wills need to get to Pennsylvania," Harriet whispered.
Over rocks, pebbles, and wet soggy leaves they ran through dusty foreign plantations.
"Moses are we gonna go through the mountains," Marry asked in an whispered voice.
"I'm afraid we have to child,"Moses said.
The Appalachian mountains were long, hard trail of scrapping tree limbs." Look Moses a river!" Billy ranted in surprise.
"Wills have to cross it,"Moses said in a disappointed tone.
They stepped in the freezing, blue, and white water.Billy yelled in surprise. They washed and waded through the shallow blue water. When they made it out, their clothes were drenched in water. They walked about a mile, following a road cautiously.
They found a sign ,"Penn-syl-van-ia," Billy made out in pieces.
Moses admitted that there were some slave owners that came to Pennsylvania to take steal free slaves.
"Never!" Billy exclaimed with fear in his voice.
They both turned around to gallop into the dark shadowy forest. Billy and Mary galloped through the weeds, twigs, logs, and marshy ground.
Billy and Marry made a halting stop to rest and heard hounds. This made Billy and Marry shoot off like little jack rabbits. While they were running they were tripping over dead logs and muddy pond banks. PPOOOWWW!!!!
A gun was fired Marry turned around to see Billy laying on the ground with blood surrounding him.
" Marry I got bit ,and I'm bleeding Marry roll me over," Billy yelped in a voice of misery.
So Marry rolled Billy over only to see a large bloody hole in Billy's leg.
" You got shot Billy," Marry yelled. Marry can hear hounds and men in the distance she doesn't know if she should
"We'lls stay here!"Billy said "O.K. Child."
So Billy and Mary run off into the crowded streets of Pennsylvania. Screaming and yelling because of joy.
"I'll haveta go back to the South to free more slaves."
"Noooo Moses!!!"
"But I must Billy."
So Moses drifted off into the scatter of people.
" Now we have to get a job." Marry said to Billy.
"So we shall find a job Marry!" Billy exclaimed.
They went off into different stores offering themselves to jobs.
Finally after a whole day of exhaustion they found a job at a store that cuts meats and ground beef.
One month later Billy and Mary were going to work snd someone put a cold firm hand on Marry's shoulder and said "Your comin with me Nowww!!!"
"Lets go to Canada Moses," Marry said and Billy shook his head in agreement to the statement.
So they took to the dark brush ahead of them.
"Another river Moses ," Billy said in disappointment
"But look a boat !!!" Marry shouted with excitement.
"We'll use it to get across," Moses said
"But Moses we can travel in it up "Nope our arms ain't strong enough to paddle up river!" Moses ranted in angered voice.
They got in the boat and paddled across the river.
Three months later Marry and Billy were following Moses through thick green valleys and one time they had to stop on the under ground railroad to get warmer clothes. Finally after climbing a snow capped mountain they looked at a sign planted at the side of a mountain that said WELCOME TO CANADA!!!
"Billy I'm stayin to help you" Marry said,
" Go on" Billy said
"Don't risk the lives of both of us."
They hear foot steps a confederate soldier took aim " Billy watch out!" Mary screamed.
Poww! The confederate soldier rocks back Mary drops to the ground.
"Mary Billy said are you okay?" Billy turned over Mary to see if she was okay.
There was a hole strait in the middle of her forehead.
"Nooo!!!" Billy cried as he lay there holding her lifeless body.
More movements in the bushes " Help Me!!!" Billy yeld.
Pow!!! another gun shot.
" I can't stop the bleedin Billy," Marry yelled in panic.
" I'm gonna leave,"Marry said under her breath.
"What did you say Marry!" Billy angrily yelled.
" "Goodbye Billy,"Marry whispered.
"Don't leave me Marry!"Billy said in a begging voice.
"Help me Marry" Billy yelled.
"Goodbye" Marry repeted in a settled voice.
Marry walked off and left Billy behind, ignoring all the begging and moaning Billy was doing.
PPOOOWWW! One more shot was fired.
"Billy" the name raced through her mind while she turned around and ran after where the sound had come from
" Hello sweetheart, your com'in with us" a hand landed on Marry's shoulder and a tall man in a gray uniform stepped up beside Marry.
