FRANK BAUM

 

Born in 1856 and died in 1919. He wrote one of the most famous books of all times: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. It was turned into one of the most popular films. He wrote 14 novels and a number of short stories about Oz and others. After he died a number of authors continued the Oz series.

 

 

LEWIS CARROLL

Born in 1832 and died in 1898. He wrote two of the most famous English ligature: Alice in Wonderland and Through the looking glass and what Alice found there. Alice in Wonderland has been translated into 30 different languages, including Arabic and Chinese. He wrote Alice in Wonderland in 1860. E.B. WHITE

 

He was born in 1899 and died in 1985. He was known as an essay writer, but he also wrote poetry and children. White wrote 3 children books Stuart Little, (1945)tells about a mouse with human parents, Charlottes Web (1952) tells of a girl, a big spider, and a pig, and The Trumpet of the Swan(1970) about a swan without a voice.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Norton Juster

 

Norton Juster is practicing environmental design at Hampshire Collage. He lives with his wife in a small rural community in western Massachusetts. He continues to delight the public with author signing and appearances. He was the one who wrote The phantom toll booth

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Charles Dickens

 

He was born on February 7, 1812. His father John Dickens was horrible at holding his finances and was imprisoned with his family, when Charles was only 12. Charles died at age 68 on June 8, 1870. He wrote
