A biography is a book written about a person's life. This includes diaries. Autobiographies are books people write about themselves. This site tells about some of the greatest biographies of all time.
This book begins in 1942, during World War II. The story takes place in the Netherlands. Anne Frank is a Jew, so her family goes into hiding. The Van Daans, another family, go into hiding with them. Later, a dentist named Mr. Dussel joins them. They live in an office building. The story ends in 1944, when they are still in hiding. I liked this book a lot.
