In Star Wars, power sources are unclear. It is known that a fusion reactor propels ships into hyperspace (see lightspeed travel in Star Wars), but not much else is known. Blasters use what are called 'powerpacks', but nothing is said about what type of power is used. References are made to a 'central reactor' on the Death Star, which means that the Death Star most likely uses nuclear power. Besides these details, nothing is known about the primary power source used in Star Wars.
