SCALLOPS

Scallops are found in deep and shallow water in most seas.  There are about 360 species known!

The shells are about 5 centimeters wide and about 2 centimeters  long.  They have ridges that radiate out in a fan shape.

The adductor muscle  opens and closes the shell.

Scallops are caught by humans and eaten.
