
The Petronas Twin Towers is 452 meters above street level and is 88 stories tall. The total built-up area is 341,760 sq. meters 93.7 million sq. feet). it was built and designed by Design/Architecture Cesar Pelli & associates (U.S.) in association with KLCC architects. The height of the skybridge is 170 meters above street level. There is a 29 double-deck hight-speed passenger lifts in both of the towers. There are also 10 escalators in each tower.
The stainless steel covered 65,000 sq. meters. The vision glass covered 77,000 sq. meters. 160,000 cubic meters of concrete wa sused in the superstructures. The steel used was 39,910 metric tons. The steel was used to strengthen the towers. For the base of the towers, 405 meters or 15 feet thick raft holding 13,200 cubic meters of grade 60 strengthened concrete. The concrete weighed almost 32,550 metric tons below each tower.
Samsung Heavy Industries of South Korea framed the skybridge that connected the two towers. The assembled bridge had been disassembled and sent to Kuala Lumpur in 493 pieces, weighing 452.64 metric tons. The building of the skybridge was composed of materials of the most strict industry standards and codes such as those that are accepted by the American Society for Testing and Material, (ASTM), the British Standard, (BS), and the American Institute of Steel Construction, (AISC). To make the work easier, the skybridge was assembled beforehand into five main factor composing the two legs, two end blocks, and the center section.

Skybridge
The two legs of the skybridge weigh about 60 metric tons each and are about 42.6 meters long. Before bolting it, the five sections of each set of legs was put together and checks on the entire dimension, beam and positon was done first. Supports ahad been made for the legs and dampers (used to stop vibration). These dampers had been built for the purpose of supporting the legs and protecting them from dampening effects of odd or not very common or normal wind.
Both of the end blocks of the skybridge were assembled beforehand at a convenient level with main girders and cross beams. The two end blocks are about 803 meters long and weigh about 30 metric tons each. After everything was ready and checked, they were ready to be lifted up.
