Stalactites and Stalagmites

Stalactites and stalagmites are beautiful stone found in limestone caves. Stalactites grow from the ceiling and stalagmites from the ground. These giant icicles formed when ground water seep into tiny cracks in the walls. A stalactite and stalagmite grows 2 or 3 inches in a thousand years.
