Materials

Hot Water

Ice cubes

Jar with metal lid

Procedure

1.Fill jar with 1 inchof hot water.

2.Turn the lid upside down on the jar.

3.Fill the lid with ice cubes.

4.Watch the bottom of the lid.

5.How do the drops get there?

Result

Droplets form on the bottom of the lid.

Why

The hot water evaporates and when it gets to cool the cold lid,it gets cool enough to turn it back into liquid . This process is called condensation.
