materials needed:
Pan(13x9x2" preferred)
Flour (moondust)
Ruler
Paprika, pepper, or Cinnamon
2 small marbles
1 BIG marble
Procedure:
1.Fill the pan with a couple inches of
flour.
2.Smooth the surface of the flour with a ruler.
3.Dust the flour with one of the three choices in item #4.
4.Drop the BIG marble in one side of the pan and the small marble
in the other. (from the same distance up.)
5.Examine the results.
If you want to have more fun, check out this other version of the first experiment! The items are the same, but the end of the procedure is a little different. Instead of using a BIG marble and a small marble, you use a small marble and another small marble dropped from different heights.
