Can you imagen standing in front of a great prymid that has
been around since early civilization?
Altogether there are 10 prymids located around Giza, Egypt.
There are three of great importance. These three prymids were
the first ever to be built and were the biggest of the age. The
Great Prymid, which was the biggest, stood to be145.75 meters
(481 ft) high. Experts think that the completion of this prymid
involved 100,000 slaves and took nearly 20 years. It is estimated
that there are as many as 2.3 million stone blocks. This great
prymid held Pharoh, Khufu, looters stole.
One thing all these prymids had in common, besides the 51 degree
slope on all sides, is they are were massive and each was carefully
built to orient with each of the cardinal directions.
On the north side of each prymid is the entrance. A number of
quarters lead throughout the prymid, but only one access the sarcophags
room. Inside the chambers, the stones were fitted to such perfection
that not even a playing card could be slipped through.
Amazingly the prymids are the only wonder still standing to date.
They have remained standing for over 4,700 years. Scholars are
still baffeled about the purpose of the great prymids. Some think
it was for burial purposes and others belive it was for other
reasons. Whatever it may be it is still a wonderous architectural
feat.
