The Polar Bear is surprisingly fast.

It can easily outrun a caribou over a short distance.

The Polar Bear is a very good swimmer

In Summer it also eats berries and leaves of Tundra plants.

Polar Bears mate in mid-summer.

A litter of 1 to 4  is born in about nine months.

Young Polar Bears remain with their mother for about a year.

Females breed only every other year.
