One of them is called the harvester. The harvester is a big farming machine with a big hopper for the wheat and grain. Of course by its name you know what is does, it harvests.

Another kind of harvesting machine is the combine. The combine is a type of machine that scoops up the hay and ties it up into a ball!

Some people probably don't think of this but, an airplane is a type of machine! The airplane is a type of fast transportation. It can hold up to 100-200 people. It flies over 1000 feet at a speed of 250mph! It makes traveling a lot faster than on a steam ship.

There are also some simple magnificent machines. One of them is called the screw. The screw helps hold things together, like a tire to a car. A pulley is helpful because you can use it anywhere. For example, you can't get a crane in a forest because it is too big. A pulley is a miniature crane. It's made out of a rope and hook. It is controlled by human muscle. A lever is a stiff bar applying force. For example, take a steel bar, stick it under the rock that you want moved and put another rock under the bar. Then you push the bar down and the rock will move from its position.
