Mediterranean
The Mediterranean Sea has always
provided for the needs of the people who live around it. It provides water
for drinking and cleaning, fish for eating, and transportation. The water
also has been used for naval warfare. Thanks to the water and a relatively
mild climate, many civilizations flourished around the Mediterranean.
Ancient civilizations left behind many artifacts at archaeological sites
all over the region. The civilizations we chose to represent the Mediterranean
are ancient Israel and Greece.
The ancient Romans also left traces of their
empire throughout the Mediterranean. |
