Mysteries
Atlantis
Some people thought Atlantis was an island in the Mediterranian that sank beneath the sea (Plato); others thought it never existed, while yet others thought it was an island in the Atlantic; that's why the island was named Atlantis. Some people think that it was Gondwandaland, a sort of original continent that later broke up into the continents of the Old World. It is still a legend and a mystery. Donavan, a rock singer, made a song in the '60's about how the scholars who knew Atlantis was doomed went to all corners of the earth and taught people their technology.
Did it really exist? Where was it?
1. It was an island volcano near Crete; when it blew up in 1500 BC, much of the island disappeared.
2. It was Gondwandaland and then it broke apart into separate continents.
3. Some think it never existed.
