WHEN it was built: 1500 BC to 300 AD.
WHERE: Central part of the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.
WHY: Built for protection, but not clear why they left.
HOW: Cut stone and painted decoration.

WHAT:A Hidden Mayan city.

WHY is it important : because now we know more about the Mayan culture.
HOW did he discover it: He bought the land where he thought the city was, including a cenote (fresh water cave/well), and started to explore it.
