Koalas are fascinating animals from Australia. Their food is mainly eucalyptus leaves. They are marsupials. This means they are animals with a pouch on their abdomen. They can climb trees by clasping tree trunks with their claws and lifting themselves. Koalas can be up to two feet, six inches long.

Next, koalas have soft, dense fur and sharp claws. Koalas climb trees to escape predators. Their habitat is scrub and forest in Eastern Australia. Koalas stay in eucalyptus trees most of the time. All in all, koalas are very interesting animals.

Keel-Billed Toucans

The keel-billed toucan is a beautiful and active bird. First, their habitats are tropical rainforests or open woodland bordering farmland in South America. Its distribution is northern and central South America. It adapts there by eating fruit, insects and other small animals. It defends itself by using its sharp eyesight for spotting friends and foes, and by flying away high into the air.

 

Dugongs

Dugongs are interesting animals of the ocean. First, their foods are seaweed and sea grass. Their habitats are sea beds of shallow, salty regions of warm oceans. You will find them in the Red Sea, Indian Ocean, and the Pacific coast of Australia. Dugongs adapt very well and have some fascinating facts about themselves as well.

Their down turned mouth and muscular lips make it easy to browse for bottom growing plants. It can hold its breath for up to two minutes and then come up for a breath of air. Dugongs grow up to ten feet long. They are solitary animals which means they prefer to be alone. The crescent shaped tail flute is an interesting sight to see. To sum it up, dugongs are awesome creatures.

Emperor Penguins

Emperor Penguins are very interesting birds from Australia. Their diet is basically fish and krill. They live in the sea and ice. It adapts by using its short, thick feathers to keep itself warm and waterproof. Adults keep babies warm by putting the babies under themselves.

 

Emperor Penguins also have some traits which are specific just to them. They are the only species of penguin which never set foot on dry land. The average size is between 3-4 feet tall. Emperor Penguins are the biggest species of penguin. In conclusion, Emperor Penguins are interesting and special birds.
