The British Total Eclipse of The Sun Coin

On August 11, 1999, Alderney, (as small island in the English Channel) saw the first complete eclipse of the sun in over seventy years, and the last of the millennium.  To commemorate this unusual event, Britain issued a coin that depicted the eclipse.  On the obverse side of the coin, it shows two gannets, (a kind of water bird) watching the eclipse.  Queen Elizabeth II is pictured on the reverse side of the coin.
