Zeus was one of five
children from Cronus and Rhea. He was the supreme god of Mount
Olympus. He was the spiritual leader of both gods and mortals.
His primary job was to uphold lord, justice, and morality. The most famous tale about Zeus was told by a man named Hesiod. The story tells that Zeus’s usurped power in the kingdom of immortals from his father. It was a mythological tale about Zeus’s struggles during the fight between the Titans. This fight happened because Cronus was warned that his children would kill him. Cronus knew of his punishments so he tried to overthrow his father, Uranus. To prevent this from happening Cronus swallowed his children Demeter, Hestia, Hades, and Hera. Zeus was the father of many well known children, both mortal and
god. His most famous mortal children were : Castor, Polydeuces,
Clytemnestra, and Helen of Troy. His godly offspring included
Apollo and Artemis.
