Interesting Facts

The basking shark has interesting features. Its mouth is behind its eyes, and it has no nictitating eyelid (a thin membrane, or inner or third eyelid). The basking has a ring intestinal valve in the gut. Its liver is a quarter of its body weight! It weighs 1,800 pounds and contains 600 gallons of oil! This is a very interesting shark!
