Ancient Sharks
You might have heard of the bull shark. It was one of the first sharks to roam the sea.
One of the other sharks of long ago was called the cladoselache. It lived 360 million years ago.
It was about 6 feet long. The cladoselache had a very powerful tail, yet it could only swim well enough
to catch food. The very broad tail made it swim quite slowly. This shark was
kind of like a mako.
Another ancient shark, the megalodon, was 13 meters long. It had spines in front of its dorsal fin to help protect itself. It was alive with the dinosaurs. Years later in the early age of man, some people worshiped the bones of this ancient shark.
