He blazed a new trail from Cumberland Gap, Virginia to the Kentucky River. He started a town called Boonesborough. He was known for exploring Kentucky and starting to get the pioneers to live there. He was captured by Shawnee Indians. After five months, he escaped. |
| Interesting Facts: | He was a lieutenant colonel of the Fayette County militia in the Revolutionary War. When he left Kentucky, somebody asked him why he was leaving and he told them that Kentucky was getting too crowded. He liked to live in the wilderness. |
