Farm Bureau


We sent a questionnaire to the DeKalb County Farm Bureau to try to learn more about their organization. We found out that their organization participates in the following areas in the county:

DeKalb County Farm Bureau was founded in 1912. Both rural and urban people who reside in DeKalb County and support the goals and philosophies of the organization can become members. At the present time, there are 6,200 members.

People may join by paying the annual membership dues which entitles them to a myriad of membership programs and benefits. A few examples of these programs and benefits are:

DeKalb County Farm Bureau was the first County Farm Bureau to form in the state of Illinois. It also is one of the oldest in the nation. They are known as a farm organization that is community-minded and responsive to the needs of their membership.

They assist the agricultural community by representing the ag community in local issues; by recognizing the importance of agricultural productivity and farmland preservation; and by focusing on production management and marketing to improve net farm income.
