People own property. They own homes, cars, toys, clothing, food, land,
etc. The most important and valuable of all is their rights. Nobody can
take them away from you. One type of right that is easy to take away are
Art Rights. With a click of a mouse you can have one of Picasso's many
famous works right in front of you!! Click, you can be in an Indian palace.
I think that counterfeiters copy these images because they want to make
money. They know that most people will not bring them to court because
of the high cost of legal fees.
At
Scholastic, Inc. we license our photographs and pictures out to many different
companies. If it is a picture from let's say, a book we need to come up
with an agreement that profits both us and them. For example, we make a
BIG profit from licensing out our "Goosebumps" pictures to other companies
that sell merchandise (toys, clothing, house appliances, etc...).
I
have given permission for Think Quest Junior team J001570 to use the above
pictures of "Goosebumps" book covers which are published by Scholastic,
Inc. |
