| Dear Madeline:
Thank
you very much for your letter. I'm sorry I didn't respond earlier,
but our university was closed for the winter break. I really enjoyed
looking at your Web site, and can understand why your team has won awards
- it's very good.
| Your
idea for a web site on copyright is great, and I'd be very happy to participate
in your project. I also grant permission for you to use the building's
image as a link to our Web site. (We have a photo of our building
on our home page). |
Currently
our web site is primarily oriented toward Indiana University students and
faculty (the Mathers Museum is part of IU), but we are working on developing
a separate site for teachers and children.
| One
of the reasons we're working on a separate site is because we do receive
a number of requests from kids. In our case, we grant permission
to children to use the materials if the images or information will be used
for educational purposes, such as a web site, report, or a class presentation.
However, if someone asks to use an image for a commercial purpose (like
to make a t-shirt to sell) we would either not grant them permission, or
we would grant permission, but would charge for use of the image. |
Please
let me know how I can be of further assistance to you in your project.
