The Great Hall of the Jefferson Building
.
This is the Great Hall of the Jefferson Building. The center of everything at the Library of Congress.  This room, unlike the Reading Rooms, allows children and teens to enter. Although that might sound good because you can go in and explore instead of sitting at the computer, waiting for this website to load, there are some downsides to it too! For one thing how will you get to Washington D.C. if your parents don't want to go? Where would you stay if you don't know anyone living there? And how much would it cost?  Well, I can tell you the answer to one of them! All of the museum and Senate buildings have FREE ADMISSION!!! When I went there I was amazed. In New York when you go to a Museum you usually have to spend $40 to go past the security desk!!

Staircase in the Great Hall (Jefferson Building)

This is a picture of the Great Hall staircase. It has many fine stone carvings all along the banister and the walls as the green arrow POINTS out!! Imagine living in a place like that. Big rooms full of sculptures and carving that can't be seen anywhere else. Now that would be the life!!

Entance to the Madison Building in springPhoto of the outside of the Madison Buliding of the Library of Congress (Original photo)

This may not be a main room in one of the gorgeous Library of Congress Buildings but it IS the main entrance to the Madison Building which is equally pretty!!! The picture on the left was taken in spring. I went to Washington D.C. in late February and the picture on the right is how I saw it. Can you compare them?
Pencils and Paper down, here are the answers.
