Living in Pakistan
Khyber Pass

Balhisar Fort

The land of Pakistan is very hilly. The Khyber Pass is mostly all hills and mountains. The highest mountain in the world is Kilimanjaro, also known as K2.  Islamabad is flat though.

In the city, the streets are very dirty with garbage on the sidewalks. There are a lot  of boonie dogs which are on the streets. People don't like dogs because they believe they are dirty.

There are various religions practiced in Pakistan.  Our housekeeper was Christian and our gardener and guards were Muslim.

We had a very large 6 bedroom house made of concrete with marble floors.  All houses have small gardens and are surrounded by walls.  Wealthier people hired guards to protect their homes; some were even armed with machine guns.  The poor people lived in houses made of mud and straw just like in ancient times.  They would make patties of water buffalo droppings and straw, throw them on the outside walls until they dried, then used them to burn as fuel for their cooking fires.

The roads are narrow between houses. In Pakistan people drive on the left side of the road.

The flag is green with a white star and moon in the middle. The flag also has a white border.
