War in the Pacific National Park

The War in the Pacific National Park in Guam was created to tell visitors about what happened here during World War II.  At first the Americans had control of Guam, but then Japan invaded Guam to take over. The Japanese tortured the local people of Guam because it wanted to rule over the Pacific Islands.  At the end of World War II, the Americans bombed Guam to conquer the Japanese. The island was liberated July 21, 1944.

War in the Pacific is a museum that has a collection of pictures and a movie about World War II. The movie shows some of the people and historians that made history. This has to do with the Pacific Islands and America that fought against the Japanese. The War in the Pacific museum tells you about the fight and descriptions of bombs, mines, cannons, and people. The museum  was established by an act of Congress in 1978 to honor the people who fought in World War II.
