| Land on Guam is beautiful.
Guam is located in the Western Northern Pacific Ocean. It is exactly
13 degrees north of the equator. The Capital of Guam is Agana.
Guam does not have towns. It has "villages". These are just
like towns except the don't have individual governments like our towns
would. The land of the island is mostly flat.
When you travel away from
the villages to the southern tip of the island, land becomes more mountainous.
The land starts off at sea level and the highest point on Guam is where
the mountains are.
There are three categories
of land ownership here on Guam. They are private, government or US
government. GovGuam, for short, holds about 25% of the total area.
The US Government holds about 30% and private ownership holds the rest
and is not restricted.
