| Even though I was really
small when I lived in Cuba, I was able to do a lot of things. I rode
ponies at birthday parties, but the older kids could go horseback riding!
I took my first swimming lessons there too! Since I was very young, I didn't remember many of the swimming techniques and needed to take lessons again. On Friday evenings, there would be a family movie at an outdoor amphitheater. I could watch the movie or walk around and play! Usually my family went to the beach. The beaches on the Guantanamo Bay Navy Base were very rocky. You have to wear water shoes. For the most part, I liked to crawl on a towel and sometimes eat sand. YUK! |
