In the 1700's a special horse named Figure was owned by a poor
Vermont singing teacher named Justin Morgan. He was the only person
that had a breed named after him. The Morgan horse has strong legs and an
arched neck. They are also all around pleasure horses. This small
strong horse has a thick flowing mane. Usually Morgans have a dark
body. Also Morgans have pulled plows, dragged logs, won races, pulled
buggies, and carried their owners on their backs for miles. Now there
are over thirty thousand registered Morgan horses.
