Flight 19 was on a
routine practice and went a little
too far, probably into the east. The pilot thought
that the plane was over the Florida Keys, but
his compasses were not working correctly. The pilot
headed north to Miami, since he believed
he was near Florida. There were no landmarks
to set him right, and his compasses still weren't
working. After a few hours the ground sent
out planes to find and guide Flight 19 back.
One plane disappeared, and Flight 19 was never
seen again. What could have happened?
Could aliens have taken over his plane?
Could it be a coincidence or a crash?
What do you think?
Other
disappearances
An airplane with 31
passengers on board disappeared without a trace after it radioed the
ground that the plane would soon
land in Bermuda.
The USS Cyclops,
captained by Lieutenant Commander
George W. Worley, left Barbados on March 4, 1918, for
Baltimore. On March 13, when the ship was long
overdue, a massive search was sent out to keep
looking, but no trace of the largest ship in the Navy
was ever found.
In late November and early
December, 1941, two
of the Cyclops's sister ships, Proteus and
Nereus,
both vanished on separate runs from the Virgin
Islands to the USA.
On January 30,1948, the
aircraft Star Tiger
disappeared without a trace on route to
Bermuda with 31 people onboard. It happened only moments
after the pilot radioed the ground crew that
they would be shortly arriving on schedule.
On January 17, 1949, the
Star Tiger's sister,
the Star Ariel, was about to switch from radio
contact with its departure point in Bermuda to
radio contact with its destination Jamaica,
when it vanished. The pilot reported perfect weather.
