A great mythological monster, Cerberus is known for guarding the underworld. But there is more to him than just that. He was one of the many children of Typhon (a monster that was very intelligent and was feared greatly by the Gods) and Achidna (Typhon's mate - her description was a sea serpent with a lady's head). Cerberus is described as having either 100 heads and being as tall as Mount Olympus or having 1 huge head and being as tall as Mount Olympus. He was born from a lumpy egg and right after he was born, he bit off Typhon's toe and and mauled it like a chew toy! He became a vicious sea monster that hunted sharks and octopuses. He later saved a Grecian girl and protected her until she was killed in a plot to capture him. Hades was the leader of the plot and quibbled with Cerberus (since he could talk) and struck a bet with Cerberus that if he served Hades for a thousand years, he would let the girl and him free (but, being very crafty, Hades never let them go).
