Quetzalcoatlus

Named after the Aztec feather god Quetzalcoatl

 

Period: Quetzalcoatlus lived in the late Cretaceous period, about 65 million years ago.

Habitat: The Quetzalcoatlus was found in Big Bend National Park, Texas, U.S.A.

Diet: Quetzalcoatlus was a carnivore (a meat eater).

Size: Quetzalcoatlus had a wing span of 40 feet (12 m) wide.

Description: The Quetzalcoatlus was the largest flying animal ever found. It had hallow bones like the birds today. The Quetzalcoatlus flew long distances using its large, light-weight wings. Quetzalcoatlus' had large brains and very good eyesight. Quetzalcoatlus' had fur all over their bodies.
