How to Use Softlight
by Noah and Mom

Steps for using the soft light layer to color in scanned black and white drawings

1. Open the picture in Adobe
2. Go to "image" adjust brightness/contrast
3. Increase the contrast until you see a little blue or red shadow
4. Decrease the brightness to add a little gray to the picture...click "ok"
5. Back to the picture, use the magic wand and click on the background and delete.
6. Now, add another layer (layer, new layer) and in the mode change it from normal to soft light....click "ok"
7. Practice adding a color to change the picture.
8. Make sure you are in the second layer, choose the paint bucket and fill with a color.
9. Once you have some color you can keep adding soft light layers and even use the airbrush tool to look like watercolor.
