The ground sloths lived in the western hemisphere. They're four different species of ground sloths, they are the Jefferson's ground sloth (Megalonyx jeffersonii), Laurillard's ground sloth (Eremothherium laurillardi), the Shasta ground sloth (Nothrotheriops shastensis), and Harlan's ground sloth (Glossotherium harlani).The ground sloth is about the size of oxen, standing just over three feet at the shoulder, eight feet in length, and weighing about 1000 pounds. They ate plants, browsing on Joshua trees, squaw tea, yuccas, brush, mesquite, and cactus.
