Newbery Tea

Miss Tottleben's class sponsored a "Literary Tea" where each students created a "mock web page" for a Newbery Author. The Newbery award is given every year to the best books in children's literature. Mrs. Klohr, the Woodland Media Specialist, and Mrs. Stapleton, the Gifted Resource Teacher, also helped the students work on the project. Each student read a Newbery Award or Newbery Honor book and researched the author. A mock web page for the author was created in Microsoft PowerPoint including a brief summary of the book. Each student dressed in character, presented their web page, and read a favorite passage from the book. Tea and other refreshments were served.
