Rifles for Watie is
about Jeff, a 16-year-old Union army soldier, who is anxious to get a taste of battle.
When he is sent on an errand, he misses his first battle at Wilson Creek. After many
punishments by a cruel officer Clardy, Jeff fights in his first battle in which he and
another man save the unions artillery and he receives a Medal of Honor. After
becoming a Cavalry trooper and meeting his love, he becomes a scout and after going deep
undercover joins the Confederacy, and uncovers a terrible scheme that could mean the fate
of the Union.
