Out of the Dust

In 1934, fourteen-year-old Billie Jo and her father are doing their best to survive the drought in Oklahoma. Dust is everywhere. Billie Jo is angry—angry at her father for causing the accident, angry because she can no longer play the piano, angry at the dust. Written in poetry form, this is a story that sings.
