Senses

Polar bears stand on their back legs to see better and sniff at things. They can see pretty well but they have a very good sense of smell!

Polar bears have to rely on their senses to find their prey. They can smell a dead whale 20 miles away. Polar Bears can also smell a tasty seal very, very far away. They are able to sniff out seal dens covered with a lot of snow and ice to find this tasty meal. It's good they can smell so well otherwise it would be hard for them to get their prey and survive.
