On April 20, 1997, a roller coaster in Oklahoma City crashed, killing a fourteen year old boy.  An Oklahoma City engineering firm started an immediate investigation on the Wildcat roller coaster.  Tests were made to look for the problem that caused the crash.  Tests included a scientific analysis of mechanical components from the roller coaster.

A deadly roller coaster accident occurred on June 21, 1923.  A trestle gave away when the roller coaster was moving.  At that point in the ride, the roller coaster was ten feet in the air.  Six people were hurt, one seriously.

In 1907, another horrible accident happened.  Two cars derailed.  A dozen people were injured.

On August 21, 1925, an accident occurred with the Thunderbolt roller coaster, located in Florida.  A woman was killed when she was thrown and her head hit a metal bar.  The next year an accident happened on July 26, 1926 injuring twelve people, one seriously.
