Claude Monet was born in Paris, France in 1840. In school he didn't listen he spent his time drawing funny pictures of his teachers. He got really good at drawing humor pictures. Some people paid him to draw funny pictures of him. He kept drawing until someone told him to try painting. They liked the dark moody colors he used. Monet's friends were interested in how nice something looked with the sun shining on it. He was a famous artists, and most of his paintings were of water. Boats, Oceans, Ponds, and Lakes were his favorite things to paint. He loved the way colors reflected in water. Claude loved the way the water makes the clouds and the sky look. He fixed up a boat as a floating studio. He kept the paints, brushes, canvas, and drawing supplies on the boat. Monet sailed and stopped to paint what
ever he liked.
