Paper for Watercolors, Oils, and Acrylics

The kind of paper you should use for water colors are heavy, rough-surfaced watercolor paper. Another good kind of paper for watercolors, oil, and acrylic painting is handmade Indian paper. Good oil-painting paper is sheets of paper that are textured to resemble canvas and are ready for oil-painting. Oil sketching paper comes in a pad and a block form. Acrylic sketching paper comes in a form of spiral-bound pads of embossed, primed paper, which are two great types of paper for small paintings and sketches.

Paper is an excellent support for painting. It will accept most media, as long as you follow the rules.
