Drawing Utensils

Graphite sticks-Graphite sticks are made of a high-grade compressed bonded kind of graphite. These sticks glide across any kind of drawing paper very smoothly. The sticks are also very bold. They can be used by using the point of the stick, also you can usethe flat edge of the sticks, or you could use the whole entire lenght of the stick. These sticks could also be known as "lead" pencils.

Drawing pencils-Drawing pencils run in grades. The grades range from 9H to H and from 9B to B. Grades F and HB are between the two different ranges. Grades 9H through H are hardest leads and grades 9B through B are the softest leads. Very soft lead is very good for sketches on textured paper. Also very soft lead makes nice rich black marks. Hard lead makes like a grayish color of marks more than they make rich black marks. Hard leads are also good for details and precise line because they can have a very, very fine point after you sharpen it.

If you want to use pencils that in one workpiece, creates a rich interact of line with the tone of your drawing then you should use pencils with grades of HB or 2B. These two defferent pencils give you a nice considerable scope of expression.

With pencils you can do many different types of drawing with them such as hatching, cross hatching, shading, dotting, and zig-zag.
