While you are waiting in line to buy your items you meet an expert . You start to talk to him and find out the time of year that they are most common and gives you some advice about some of the signs that occur before a tornado.
He says that tornadoes are most common in the spring and summer but can occur anytime during the year.
Some advice that the expert gave you was that you should always have a storm shelter. If you don't have one and you are caught by surprise you should hide under a table and put mattresses or blankets around it. Another good idea would be to go into a bath tub or anything that is bolted into the ground (because these are the things that are usually left after a tornado hits) and put couch pillows around you to keep yourself secure. Something else that he tells you is how long a tornado lasts. A tornado usually lasts for only about 2-3 minutes but may last as long as 15 minutes.
Another thing that he tells you are the signs that occur before a tornado. Some signs that you should look for before a tornado occurs is that the sky turns to a dark green and black color, the clouds start to move fast across the sky, there are thunderstorms where there usually aren't, there is an obvious funnel cloud that is spinning, debris falling from the sky, there is a strange quiet that occurs after a thunderstorm, or there is a sound that sounds like a waterfall that gets closer to you.
Then you say good bye to the expert, pay for your items, and leave the store.
