Most of the time earthquakes happen in the Ring of Fire. This Ring of Fire is the outline of the Pacific Ocean. If one earthquake happens it affects the whole Ring of Fire. This happens because of shock waves. It may cause a volcano or Tsunami. The Ring of Fire is home to the Cocos Plate, Nazca Plate(which is located near Armera, Colombia) and Mexico City. Some other plates in the Pacific are the Juan De Fuca Plate, Pacific Plate, Caribbean Plate, and the American Plate. Earthquakes can happen both above and bellow sea level. California is a popular place for earthquakes to happen. The most active above sea level is the San Andreas Fault line. The fault line moves 3.5 cm yearly.
