In 1984 Sammy Sosa
signed a contract With the Philadelphia Phyllis at only
fifteen years of age but he told the scout he was sixteen.
He told them that because you have to be sixteen to play in
the major-league. When his true age was discovered the
contract was voided. After he turned sixteen the Texas
Rangers and the Toronto Blue Jays gave him try outs. The
Texas Rangers offered Sammy 3,5000 dollar's. Sammy was now
on the Texas Rangers. He gave almost all of his money to his
mom. He spent the rest on his first luxury, a new bicycle.
On Sammy's
first game with the Texas Rangers he hit a single and a
double against the New York Yankees. The Texas Rangers Made
a Deal to trade Sammy Sosa to the Chicago White sox. They
had made the deal. In 1990 he became the
only person ever to reach double figure in doubles triples
and home runs.
