Jess Aaron, was the fastest runner in the school before Leslie came along. She happened to be kind, and soon was Jess's friend. Leslie had an imagination and invented a place called Terabithia. They were king and queen, and ruled the land of Terabithia, which contained fairies and other mystical creatures. In Terabithia all their problems melted away. A 7th grader, Janice Avery, was nothing and no longer mattered to them. Knowing Leslie, and how she would act, Jess was able to cope through a tragedy that changed his life.
