Phyllis spent most of her childhood wishing she could
read. She loved to listen to stories that people read to her.
She didn't care about the author or illustrator; she just cared about the
story. In first grade she had trouble reading. But, by 5th
grade she was a wonderful reader and "writing books" was her hobby.
Her first story was published when she was sixteen in a church magazine.

During her college years she studied to be a clinical

anything.
